Renewable Raw Based Material
ARBOBLEND
ARBOBLEND consists of many different biologically derived materials, which together form a packaging material. Depending on the combination, ARBOBLEND consists of biopolymers such as polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), polycaprolactone (PCL), polyester (e.g. bio-PET), starch, polylactic acid (PLA), bio-polyolefins (bio-PE), bio-polyamides (bio-PA), lignin, natural resins, waxes, oils, natural fatty acids, cellulose, biological additives and natural reinforcing fibers.
Depending on the intended use of the materials, they are developed to be fully biodegradable, for example for use in mulch films or urns. ARBOBLEND, with its wide range of material types and manufacturing techniques, can be used not only in the packaging industry but also in household goods, for example.
The material, however, is not yet suitable for use in the consumer food sector. And, as with many bioplastics, efficient disposal in the existing recycling system remains an open question.
