The snackification trend resulting from increasingly mobile lifestyles is leading to homes and offices being planned and built entirely without kitchens. The reason for this is that people simply no longer need them. People eat on the train, in the office, in the park or in a restaurant. Takeaways are a central part of everyday urban culture when things have to move a little faster. The interest in food, dishes and their preparation methods has not diminished, but the practical experience in the sense of cooking or “being there while cooking” is disappearing from the four walls at home into Third Places.
