AINIA<\/h2>\n\n

The AINIA<\/em> is one of the largest European technology centers with more than 700 affiliated companies and 1,300 customers. Founded in 1987 as a non-profit organization, the Research and Development Center works to help companies develop sustainable packaging materials with improved and novel functionality. From the point of view of sustainability, biotechnology plays an important role here. By producing biopolymers, waste from other industries (such as the food industry) can be put to good use. AINIA<\/em> is also working with its customers to develop biodegradable polymers that can significantly reduce the negative impact on the environment. In addition to the sustainability criteria of a package, the center develops innovative solutions for the protection, shelf life and consumer experience of a package with its affiliated companies. The use of barrier materials tailored to the specific requirements of the product to be packaged enables the development of customized packaging that optimally protects the goods from external influences such as light, oxygen or moisture. To enable a special product experience, intelligent, active packaging is also being developed at AINIA<\/em> that supports interaction between the packaging and the consumer, for example by releasing aromas or providing eye-catching information about the quality and traceability of the product. <\/p>\n\n
