T\u00f4mtex<\/h2>\n\n

T\u00f4mtex makes vegan leather from seafood waste and used coffee grounds. Seafood shells contain a large amount of chitin, which promotes biodegradability of the material. After preparation, the raw materials are refined with a layer of beeswax. Sealing ensures the water resistance of the material and allows individual surface texture. This allows design patterns such as the natural structure of animal skins to be easily reproduced. The company is giving new uses to the 9.5 million tons of coffee grounds waste it produces each year, as well as the 6 to 8 million tons of crab, shrimp and lobster shells. Until now, this waste has been producing vast amounts of CO2 in landfills, which can be reduced through innovative processing into vegan leather. <\/p>\n\n
