Sustainable ice cream spooning
With its cookie-like ingredients, the edible ice cream spoon “Spoonie” is not only a tastier but also a more environmentally friendly alternative to the traditional plastic spoon. Sturdy and chocolaty spoon lasts an hour in ice cream or desserts before dissolving. The secret ingredient is not the usual chocolate, but the fibers of the cocoa shell, which until now has only been used as a residual material for fertilizer and animal feed. The thin shell of the small cocoa bean accumulates as a residual material in chocolate production and reaches a waste volume of up to 40,000 tons annually in Germany alone. The raw material is rich in fiber and suitable for a vegan and gluten-free diet, making it ideal for recycling. The natural chocolate flavor as well as the robust texture of the Spoonies are thus the perfect solution for all ice cream lovers.
