1. digital product passport (DPP)
From 2027, the Digital Product Passport (DPP) will be mandatory in the EU. Brands will then have to make comprehensive information on materials, recyclability, emissions and supply chains transparent – digitally accessible via QR code.
MILK. is already providing support with the integration of this system into packaging designs. We collect relevant data, structure it in a user-friendly way and implement it in digital touchpoints such as QR codes and microsites. The result: a strong, credible communication channel and a clear commitment to transparency and responsibility.
2 EmpCo Ready Packaging – Green Claims Compliance
The Green Claims Check is a must for anyone working with environmental claims. According to the EU directive, terms such as “climate-neutral”, “sustainably packaged” or “biodegradable” must in future be comprehensible, scientifically proven and independently verifiable.
Our EmpCo module analyzes existing claims, identifies risks and develops legally compliant, credible formulations. In addition, we design suitable icons, landing pages or QR code stories – for a convincing, consistent overall picture between packaging, product page and campaign communication.
3. PPWR Ready Packaging Check
With the new EU Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), far-reaching requirements will come into force from August 2026. These include mandatory recyclability (at least 70% by 2030), specific recyclate content in plastics, minimization of empty space, new EPR requirements and even a possible ban on PFAS.
