Materials based on
renewable raw materials

ARBOBLEND

ARBOBLEND consists of many different bio-based materials, which together form a packaging material. Depending on the combination, ARBOBLEND consists of biopolymers such as polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), polycaprolactone (PCL), polyester (e.g. bio-PET), starch, polylactic acid (PLA), bio-polyolefins (bio-PE), bio-polyamides (bio-PA), lignin, natural resins, waxes, oils, natural fatty acids, cellulose, biological additives and natural reinforcing fibers.

Depending on the intended use of the materials, they are developed to be completely biodegradable, for example for use in mulch films or urns. Thanks to its diverse material types and their production techniques, ARBOBLEND can be used not only in the packaging industry but also in household goods, for example. However, the material is hardly suitable for use in the consumer food sector. And, as with many bioplastics, efficient disposal in the existing recycling system remains an open question.
