“If I’m already trying to reduce my plastic consumption as an individual consumer, why shouldn’t I be realistic and remove the millions of plastic containers I have some control over from the equation?” says Joshua Davis, co-founder and CEO of American ice cream brand Gelato Fiasco. Now the ice cream manufacturer is using a cardboard ice cream cup certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative for its miniature dessert creations. According to the company, the ice cream cups with their certified coated paper are designed for optimal recycling.
